Reasons for air leakage of electric cargo bikes first of all, we need to know where the tires of electric cargo bikes leak air:
1. Joint between carcass and hub
2. Joint of valve and hub
3. Valve core
4. The carcass is damaged;
The above reasons cause the tire air of electric vehicles to leak slowly
Electric cargo bike tires are divided into ordinary tires and vacuum tires, so we need to distinguish which is vacuum tires and which is ordinary tires:
The most intuitive way is to look at the junction of the valve position and the steel ring. There is a vacuum tire wrapped with protruding rubber, and there is no ordinary tire; Then, we will see if there is tubeless on the tire, which is the logo of vacuum tire.
However, the degree of air leakage of vacuum tires is different from that of ordinary tires. Under normal circumstances, vacuum tires (those without inner tubes are called vacuum tires) can be used for 3-4 months without air replenishment. If the air tightness is good, they can even be inspected every six months.
Ordinary tires (those with inner tubes are called ordinary tires) are difficult to say, because in terms of the quality of different tires and the normal carrying capacity of electric vehicles, most of them should check the air pressure of the tires every three months.
Vacuum tyres and ordinary tyres have their own advantages:
When the tires are punctured by nails at the same time, ordinary tires will be flat and need to get off to avoid greater damage. The vacuum tire will leak slowly, which is enough to last to the maintenance station, but it is troublesome in maintenance, and the inflation process is complex and takes a long time. Ordinary tires can be reused after sticking to the leaking part.
Too high or too low tire pressure is not good. When the tire pressure is too high, the tire will bulge in the middle of the tread and cause eccentric wear; Excessive damage to the center of the tread will also reduce the service life; Or when the local air pressure is too high and exceeds the maximum limit, the tire will burst. When the tire pressure of the vehicle is too low, the tire will have a large stress area and the endurance will deteriorate; Abnormal wear of tire pressure; Vehicle bumps; When the tire pressure is insufficient, the sidewall deforms relatively more during driving, generating additional heat to cause carcass separation and tire blowout (20% of which is caused by excessive tire pressure and 57% by insufficient tire pressure).
When we buy a new cargo bike, we need to check the following problems of vacuum tires:
The first is to see whether the tire carcass has riding marks or has been repaired. This is the simplest and commonly used inspection method. The second is to vent the tire air, and then re inflate it after it is completely flattened. Wait about 40 minutes to check the quality of the valve core, the front and rear hardness of the tire, the tightness of the contact between the valve and the hub, and the fit between the tire and the hub.
